HOW CAN OUR SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS ASSIST YOU?
Individual Support
A confidential and supportive space where students can talk one-on-one with the school social worker about personal challenges such as mental health, peer relationships, family changes, attendance concerns, grief, trauma, and emotional regulation.
Small Group Support
Social workers may facilitate small group sessions with students who share similar challenges or goals. Group topics may include coping skills, anxiety management, friendship building, conflict resolution, self-esteem, or adjusting to family transitions.
Classroom Lessons & School-Wide Programs
School social workers support social-emotional learning and mental wellness by collaborating with teachers to deliver classroom lessons or coordinate school-wide activities focused on building resilience, empathy, problem-solving, and healthy relationships.
Collaboration & Consultation
Social workers work closely with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators—as well as outside professionals such as mental health providers, social service agencies, and medical staff—to develop plans that best support each student’s success in school and life.
Resource Coordination
School social workers help connect students and families to vital community resources, including food, clothing, housing support, mental health services, and more. They also assist with referrals, follow-ups, and ongoing communication to ensure families feel supported every step of the way.
